Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich’s Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering seeks a head of the Research Data Management Facility to establish and lead the new unit. You will shape the RDM strategy, identify needs with research groups, and deliver sustainable, FAIR-compliant software solutions in a cross-disciplinary environment.

You will manage a small team, collaborate with IT, governance, and research units, and represent the unit in ETH networks and national/international RDM communities.

Qualifikationen

• PhD required in a relevant field with research background.
• Several years of experience in research data management.
• Strong knowledge of FAIR principles and open science standards.
• Experience designing and managing complex software projects.
• Excellent communication and leadership qualities.

Aufgaben

• Establish the RDM unit and develop it strategically.
• Define and prioritize the departmental RDM strategy in line with ETH-wide developments.
• Identify needs with research groups and translate into viable system solutions.
• Design, plan, and manage software projects from requirements to budget.
• Ensure RDM systems are FAIR-compliant, secure, and sustainable.
• Participate in design, prototyping, and development of RDM infrastructures (open source preferred).
• Roll out and reliably operate systems with the departmental IT Facility.
• Build and lead a small specialized team and promote internal competencies.
