Mission

The Head of IT PMO is responsible for leading the Company's IT Project Management Office and directing the project management of key IT initiatives throughout the organization. This role ensures the timely, budget-conscious, and objective-fulfilling delivery of IT projects. The incumbent will develop a solid project management framework that aligns IT initiatives and resources with business objectives and oversee a team of project managers to ensure successful project execution. As a specialist advisor within the IT department, the incumbent will provide insights on IT technologies, trends, and enhancement opportunities to enable the effective, reliable, and efficient completion of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the IT Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure effective project delivery, aligning project outcomes with the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Oversee the portfolio of IT projects, allocating resources and managing risks and prioritization based on business needs.
  • Establish and enforce project management standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, business units, and IT teams to define project requirements and align with organizational goals.
  • Proactively manage project risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Develop and manage a resource strategy for successful project delivery, including internal teams, third-party vendors, and contractors.
  • Ensure that all IT projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, providing regular status updates to senior management.
  • Oversee the change management process for IT projects, ensuring end-users are prepared for new systems, processes, or technologies through training and communication.
  • Manage project budgets, providing financial reporting and ensuring cost controls across all projects.
  • Develop KPIs for project success, track performance, and report progress to executive leadership.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts within the PMO, optimizing processes and stakeholder communication.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of project managers and PMO staff, providing coaching and guidance on best practices.
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing large-scale, cross-functional IT projects from initiation through delivery in a trading or financial services organization.
  • Experience in IT transformations within the trading/financial industry.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and frameworks such as PMI, Prince2.
  • Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
  • Experience with vendor management and third-party integration.
  • Experience in change management and communication strategies to ensure successful project adoption by end-users.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills; ability to lead teams and collaborate with senior executives.
  • PMP, PgMP, or similar project management certifications.
  • Strong financial acumen, experience managing project budgets, resource allocation, and forecasting.
  • In-depth understanding of risk management and issue resolution within IT projects.
  • Ability to influence and drive change within an organization, especially adopting project management best practices.
  • Familiarity with enterprise project management tools (Jira, Microsoft Project, ClickUp).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer orientation; stress resilience; attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and French; other languages an asset.
  • Swiss or EU national or holder of a valid Swiss working permit.
