Job summary

SSR Personnel Ltd in Zürich is seeking an experienced Close Protection Professional to lead the executive protection programme for the Board of Directors. A military background and prior security consulting experience are highly valued.

You will assess threats, plan protective measures, coordinate with external providers, and manage travel security and event protection. Fluency in English and German is required; travel about 30% and flexibility to travel on short notice are essential.

Job description

Head of Executive Protection based Zurich, Switzerland. Package depends on experience.

We are recruiting an experienced Close Protection Professional with previous military service to support the delivery of integrated security solutions for the Board of Directors. You need to be an EU or Swiss passport holder.

The role requires a broad security practitioner who can assess threats, identify vulnerabilities, recommend proportionate controls, set and implement strategy and engage specialist external providers. Travel will be approximately 30% of your time. You must have the flexibility to travel at short notice.

Languages required: English and German to a professional standard.

The Role

• Conduct enterprise, site, threat, and vulnerability assessments.


• Deliver security audits, due diligence and governance reviews.


• Lead and deliver the executive protection programme, travel security, planning and event security.


• Support protective intelligence, OSINT, background enquiries and investigations.


• Support crisis management, emergency planning, evacuation and business continuity.


• Develop and deliver security-awareness training, exercises and simulations.

The Person

• Strong background in corporate security, security risk management, protective security or security consulting.


• Experience conducting security risk, threat and vulnerability assessments.


• Previous Military service, preferably from a special forces environment.


• Strong understanding of physical-security principles including access control, surveillance, perimeter protection, intrusion detection and security zoning.


• Practical understanding of protective security, executive protection, and/or travel-risk management.


• Understanding of crisis and emergency-management principles.
