Job summary

Zurich Instruments AG is seeking a seasoned engineering leader to head the high-performance data path team in Zürich. You will drive CPU/GPU integration strategies for next-gen quantum computing instruments and mentor researchers and engineers across the organization.

You will shape backend architecture, manage technical debt, and collaborate with product management and cross-functional agile teams to align delivery with strategic goals.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years leading a software engineering team with strong communication and organizational skills.
• Broad C++ experience in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead our high-performance data path team, driving CPU/GPU integration for next-gen quantum computing instruments.
• Drive all aspects of people development in close collaboration with our HR team.
• Engage in architecture decisions for backend- and server-SW.
• Build engineering capability, manage technical debt and optimize delivery processes.
• Own delivery of features.
• Align with stakeholders, including product management, cross-functional agile development teams, or our Engineering Productivity team.
