Job Description
We are looking for a talented, proactive, and entrepreneurial Groups Director to join our dynamic team in Switzerland.
In this strategic role, you will be responsible for driving the development and expansion of our Groups business across our international destination network. You will lead initiatives to create a scalable operating model, enhance and further develop our Groups technology platform together with our IT company, implement standardized processes across destinations, and unlock new growth opportunities through commercial acquisition and account management activities.
You will work closely with our global Partner Network to strengthen our market position and deliver sustainable, profitable growth.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the global growth strategy for the Groups business across our destination network.
- Drive the expansion of the Groups business into destinations and countries where Group operations are not yet established.
- Collaborate closely with our Partner Network across 20+ countries to ensure successful implementation of Groups business initiatives.
- Further develop and optimize the Groups IT platform to enhance scalability, efficiency, automation, and user experience.
- Design, implement, and standardize scalable operational processes across existing and new destinations.
- Develop and execute mid- and long-term commercial plans to achieve revenue, profitability, and growth objectives.
- Lead market research and analysis to identify commercial opportunities, emerging trends, and potential new markets.
- Build strong relationships with clients and partners to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
- Establish new sales channels and expand the company's customer network within the Groups & MICE segment.
- Drive innovation and share best practices to continuously improve products, services, and customer experience.
- Monitor business performance, prepare reports, and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Represent the company at national and international trade fairs, workshops, networking events, and industry conferences.
- Plan and lead sales trips together with destinations, and client hosting activities as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Business Development, Sales, Key Account Management, or Commercial Management within Tourism, Destination Management, Groups, and/or MICE.
- Experience in managing international stakeholders and working within multinational and multicultural environments.
- Strong strategic thinking skills combined with a hands-on and results-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret market trends, business performance, and commercial opportunities.
- Experience in process optimization, digital transformation, and/or implementation of technology solutions is highly desirable.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive \"can-do\" attitude and a passion for driving change and innovation.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
- Fluent written and spoken English; additional languages are a strong advantage.
- Degree in Tourism, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred.
