Descrição da vaga

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Group Finance Controller based in Switzerland.

We are looking for an experienced Group Finance Controller to lead and scale financial operations within a rapidly growing international technology business. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee group accounting, financial reporting, consolidation, and internal controls across multiple entities and currencies. You will also lead and develop an established accounting team while strengthening financial processes and operational efficiency. A key part of your mission will be modernizing finance systems, introducing automation, and leveraging AI to build scalable financial operations. Working closely with senior leadership and FP&A, you will ensure accurate financial information supports strategic and investment decisions. This is an opportunity to shape a growing international finance function in a fully remote, innovation-driven environment.

Accountabilities

As Group Finance Controller, you will take ownership of group-wide financial operations, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and scalability while driving continuous improvements across the finance function. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and oversee group accounting operations across multiple entities, including record-to-report, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, and intercompany transactions.

  • Manage, support, and develop the existing accounting team, introducing improved processes and more efficient ways of working.

  • Own and continuously improve month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

  • Oversee accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, payments, and tax compliance in collaboration with internal teams and external advisors.

  • Lead group financial consolidation across multiple entities and currencies, including foreign exchange accounting and intercompany eliminations.

  • Drive the adoption of IFRS and establish consistent group accounting policies, technical accounting documentation, and reporting standards.

  • Develop and maintain an effective internal control framework suited to a growing, investor-backed international organization.

  • Lead statutory audits and coordinate local statutory reporting requirements, ensuring ongoing audit readiness.

  • Collaborate with FP&A on monthly management accounts, financial analysis, and board and investor reporting.

  • Improve the finance systems infrastructure, including accounting, billing, consolidation, and payment processes.

  • Identify opportunities to simplify and automate financial operations, reducing manual work while improving accuracy and scalability.

  • Implement practical AI and automation solutions across reconciliations, invoice processing, financial controls, and reporting.

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure financial processes and systems evolve alongside the organization's international growth.

Requirements

The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with proven leadership experience and a hands-on approach to building scalable finance operations. You should be comfortable managing complex international accounting structures while driving transformation and continuous improvement. The following qualifications and skills are expected:

  • Significant experience in financial controllership or senior group accounting roles, preferably within a high-growth SaaS or technology business.

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly IFRS, group consolidation, and multi-entity, multi-currency financial reporting.

  • Proven experience building, improving, or scaling accounting operations, ideally within a venture capital- or private equity-backed organization.

  • Experience in external audit, preferably with a Big Four firm, and a strong understanding of statutory audit requirements.

  • Recognized professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated experience implementing or improving financial processes, internal controls, and finance systems.

  • Strong interest in technology, AI, and automation, with practical experience applying these tools to improve financial operations.

  • Previous experience leading and developing accounting teams, introducing organizational change while maintaining operational stability.

  • Hands-on, proactive approach, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to balance daily operational responsibilities with long-term strategic improvements.

  • Excellent English communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with international, remote teams.

Additional assets:

  • Experience with channel-led SaaS, B2B2B, or partner-driven revenue models.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity, web infrastructure, or related technology sectors.

  • Experience implementing ERP, billing, consolidation, or financial automation platforms.

  • Knowledge of Estonian, UK, or broader European accounting and statutory requirements.

  • Experience with scripting, workflow automation, or AI agents applied to finance processes.

  • Exposure to fundraising, financial due diligence, mergers and acquisitions integration, or debt financing.
