For one of our clients, a leading international healthcare and diagnostics company based in Rotkreuz, we are looking for a Global Project Manager (Lab Automation) (m/f/d) to support strategic product development initiatives within laboratory automation and integrated diagnostic systems.

The Project Management function plays a critical role in orchestrating development activities, ensuring successful execution, and bringing innovative laboratory solutions to market efficiently and effectively.

As a Global Project Manager, you will lead multidisciplinary development projects focused on laboratory automation technologies. You will manage timelines, budgets, resources, communication plans, governance activities, risk assessments, and stakeholder engagement across international teams.

We are seeking a highly organized and technically credible project management professional with proven experience in Lab Automation within Biochemistry and Chemistry environments. You are comfortable navigating complex technical challenges, driving cross‑functional collaboration, and supporting teams through both traditional and Agile project delivery methodologies.

Tasks & Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution (70%)
  • Establish project governance structures and implementation frameworks.
  • Create and maintain integrated project schedules, budgets, timelines, and resource plans.
  • Coordinate activities across laboratory automation, engineering, chemistry, biochemistry, and functional teams.
  • Lead project planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting activities.
  • Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate milestone reviews, capacity reviews, and governance discussions.
  • Conduct critical path analyses and scenario planning to support business decisions.
  • Ensure transparency and alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Support effective project and product lifecycle management activities.
  • Act as central coordination point for project‑related information and reporting.
Agile Delivery & Organizational Excellence (30%)
  • Coach teams on project methodologies and Agile best practices.
  • Support SAFe and Hybrid delivery models where applicable.
  • Define and report KPIs, OKRs, and project performance indicators.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives across project teams.
  • Promote best‑practice sharing and knowledge transfer within project management communities.
  • Collaborate with portfolio management, finance, analytics, and functional departments.
  • Support portfolio‑level planning and organizational decision‑making processes.
  • Contribute to strengthening project management standards and operational excellence across the organization.
Your profile:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Engineering, Life Sciences, Laboratory Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of project management experience within laboratory automation, diagnostics, biotechnology, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or related industries.
  • Proven experience in Lab Automation environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of Biochemistry and Chemistry applications.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technical development projects involving automation systems, instrumentation, or laboratory workflows.
  • Strong expertise in Waterfall, Agile, SAFe, and Hybrid project methodologies.
  • Hands‑on experience using project management software such as Azure DevOps, Monday.com, Planisware, Jira, or comparable tools.
  • Practical experience with project planning, budgeting, resource management, and risk mitigation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and leadership capabilities.
  • Fluent English, written and spoken.
Nice to Have
  • Experience within Diagnostics, Medical Devices, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, or Healthcare Technology industries.
  • Exposure to laboratory robotics, automated instrumentation, or integrated diagnostic systems.
  • Knowledge of portfolio management frameworks and governance processes.
  • Understanding of regulated development environments and quality processes.
  • German language skills.
  • Experience managing geographically distributed international teams.
  • PMP, Prince2, AgilePM, SAFe, Scrum Master, or comparable certifications.
