Biozentrum PhD Fellowships Program at the University of Basel invites talented early-career scientists to pursue a fully funded PhD in Switzerland. Fellows rotate across Biozentrum laboratories before selecting a final research group for their thesis, offering broad exposure and an international research community.

The program provides full funding for the entire PhD, plus additional professional development support, travel for interviews, and annual allowances for meetings, books, or a computer.

Qualifikationen

• University degree qualifying for admission to a PhD programme at the University of Basel (MSc or equivalent).
• In exceptional cases, outstanding applicants with a four-year Bachelor’s degree may be eligible.
• Applicants cannot be enrolled as PhD students at Basel at the time the fellowship decision is made.

Aufgaben

• Rotate through at least two Biozentrum laboratories, with rotations lasting at least two months each.
• Choose the research group for the final PhD thesis after rotations, with supervisor approval.
