Lonza in Basel is seeking a Global Category Manager Logistics & Warehousing to lead worldwide sourcing strategies for logistics, transportation and warehousing across regions and business units. You will shape strategy, run competitive tenders, manage supplier relationships, and deliver measurable cost savings and value.

You will act as the procurement SME for logistics, monitor market intelligence, and guide governance, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, SCM, Procurement, or related field.
• Significant experience in category management and strategic sourcing within logistics.
• Strong negotiation, tendering, and total cost of ownership analysis capabilities.
• Fluency in English; experience with SAP/Ariba/iCertis is a plus.

• Develop and implement global category and sourcing strategies for logistics, transportation, and warehousing.
• Lead strategic sourcing projects, tenders, negotiations, and contract management to deliver sustainable value and cost optimization.
• Build and manage a robust savings pipeline, ensuring accurate forecasting, tracking, and realization of procurement benefits.
• Act as the global procurement SME for logistics and warehousing, providing market intelligence and strategic guidance.
• Drive supplier selection, onboarding, performance management, and governance to improve service quality, resilience, innovation, and compliance.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align category strategies with business needs, operational priorities, sustainability goals, and risk mitigation plans.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement, digitalization, and process harmonization initiatives to enhance efficiency and transparency.
