Qualifications

• Langfristige Führungserfahrung (15+ Jahre) in der Pharma/Healthcare-Industrie
• Ausgeprägte Expertise in globalen klinischen Lieferketten und regulatorischen Rahmenbedingungen
• 5+ Jahre direkte Linienführung und Führung multi-lokaler Teams
• Nachweisliche Transformations- und Enterprise-System-Erfahrung (Agile/SAFe, ERP-Implementierungen)
• Nachweis über strategische und finanzielle Fähigkeiten in langfristiger Planung
• Zertifizierungen wie PMP oder Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt bzw. gleichwertig

Responsibilities

• Führung der End-to-End PTDS-Geschäftsstrategie und Abstimmung mit PTD/R&D Vision 2030
• Steuerung zentraler Digital-, ERP- und AI-Roadmaps (ASPIRE, CLARA, OMP, A&R)
• Direkte Leitung des PTD OE Team Leads und OE Hub sowie Lean-Six-Sigma-Initiativen
• Leitung globaler Budgetrunden (T0-T3) und Resourcing-Planung 1 Jahr, 3–5 Jahre
• Aufbau robuster Risikomanagement- und BCM-Prozesse für globale klinische Lieferketten
• Verantwortung für Plan-to-Deliver-Prozesse, regulatorische Compliance und Stammdatenqualität
• Umwelt- und Nachhaltigkeitsinitiativen inkl. CO2-Analysen in globalen Netzwerken
• Führung einer multikulturellen, globalen Organisation mit matrixstruktur

The Opportunity:

• Strategic Leadership & Network Integration: Lead end-to-end PTDS business strategy, aligning functional initiatives with PTD and R&D Vision 2030, while overseeing annual strategy reviews, SQDEC goal setting, and global business project portfolio management (bPPM).
  
• Digital & AI Transformation: Act as the enterprise business integrator driving core digital, ERP, and AI roadmaps, including high-visibility programs like ASPIRE (SAP S/4HANA & CSIM migration), CLARA deployment, OMP, and Analytics & Reporting (A&R).
  
• Operational Excellence & Capability Building: Direct line-manage the PTD OE Team Lead and OE Hub to champion Lean Six Sigma methodologies, Kaizen events, and root cause analyses across PTDx projects to cultivate Lean capabilities globally.
  
• Global Resource & Financial Planning: Lead cross-functional T0-T3 budget rounds, managing 1-year operational resourcing and 3-5-year strategic financial horizons, including clinical trial study-related costs (PVC planning), in partnership with Global Demand & Supply Planning and Product Portfolio Teams.
  
• Business Continuity & Risk Management: Establish and govern robust risk management frameworks, emergency incident response procedures (LEM), and Business Continuity Management (BCM) strategies to ensure resilient clinical supply chain operations globally.
  
• End-to-End Process Management: Maintain business process ownership across Plan-to-Deliver operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, high-quality master data, and global process standardization across complex supply networks.
  
• Environmental Sustainability: Oversee sustainability and carbon reduction initiatives across the global clinical supply chain, line-managing the PTD Sustainability Lead and driving CO2 sensitivity analyses and reporting.
  
• Executive People & Matrix Leadership: Empower and direct line-manage/matrix-lead a diverse, multicultural team across primary global hubs (Kaiseraugst/Basel, South San Francisco, Mississauga) to foster high engagement, talent flow, and organizational development.
  

Who you are:

• Educational Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Business Administration; a Master’s degree, MBA, or advanced degree is strongly preferred.
  
• Industry Experience: Bring 15+ years of progressive professional experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry, with deep domain expertise in global clinical trial supply operations and regulatory environments.
  
• Leadership & Matrix Management: Demonstrate 5+ years of direct line management and executive leadership experience, successfully guiding large, cross-functional, multi-site teams across complex matrix organizations.
  
• Transformation & Enterprise Systems: Proven track record leading major digital transformations, Agile/SAFe frameworks, and enterprise ERP implementations (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, OMP, or legacy SAP).
  
• Strategic & Financial Acumen: Possess demonstrated expertise in long-range strategic planning, global resourcing plans, study-cost management (PVC), project portfolio controls (bPPM), and functional budget governance.
  
• Process Excellence & Professional Certifications: Hold recognized certifications such as PMP or Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt (or equivalent), with a proven history of embedding Operational Excellence (OE) and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  
• Global Readiness & Languages: Fluent in English (German language skills are an advantage), with the flexibility and willingness to travel internationally up to 10%.
