Global Category Manager — Strategic Sourcing Leader

Job summary

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Vaud, Switzerland, invites applications for a Category Manager on a temporary, two-year contract. You will manage procurement activities for assigned indirect categories, acting as a procurement partner to internal stakeholders and contributing to sourcing strategies and supplier management.

You will ensure governance, support category plans, deliver reporting and insights (Power BI), and collaborate with IOC Legal to review contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Business, Finance or a related field is required.
• CIPS or equivalent procurement qualification is an advantage.
• Fluent in English with good French communication abilities.
• Proven track record leading complex sourcing initiatives from strategy to contract.
• Experience across multiple indirect spend categories; events or corporate services exposure is a plus.
• Strong commercial judgement and negotiation skills, with governance awareness.
• Analytical mindset with data analysis and reporting experience (Power BI a plus).

Responsibilities

• Own the engagement model for assigned indirect categories, from intake to supplier onboarding.
• Advise internal stakeholders on sourcing approaches and deliver value through procurement activities.
• Manage procurement pipeline visibility and align on milestones and timelines.
• Define sourcing strategy per engagement and run end-to-end processes for valued initiatives.
• Support category strategies including supplier segmentation, risk management, and savings opportunities.
• Lead negotiations with strategic suppliers to secure favorable contractual terms.
• Provide guidance for lower-complexity engagements and ensure proper governance and documentation.
• Deliver procurement reporting and dashboards, including insights from spend and supplier analysis.
• Collaborate with IOC Legal to review contracts and ensure compliance.
• Coordinate reviews and approvals for contracts and requisitions with involved stakeholders.
