Zusammenfassung

ABB Schweiz AG sucht eine/n erfahrene/n Global Category Manager im Bereich elektronische Bauteile, um globale Beschaffungsstrategien zu definieren und umzusetzen. Sie arbeiten eng mit Agile Teams und F&E zusammen, führen RFQ/RFP-Prozesse durch und verhandeln mit Lieferanten, um Kosten, Qualität und Lieferzuverlässigkeit sicherzustellen.

Sie entwickeln Langfristvereinbarungen, pflegen Beziehungen zu strategischen Lieferanten und berichten regelmäßig an das Senior Management.

Qualifikationen

• Nachweisbare Erfahrung in strategischer Beschaffung, Beschaffung, Commodity-Management oder ähnlichen Funktionen.
• Erfahrung in elektronischen Bauteilen, EMS- oder Halbleiterindustrie von Vorteil.
• Englische Kommunikationsstärke, weitere Sprachen von Vorteil.
• Bereitschaft zu internationaler Reisetätigkeit (bis ca. 20–30%).
• Professionelle Zertifizierungen wie CPSM, CIPS sind Pluspunkte.

Aufgaben

• Definition, Entwicklung und Umsetzung globaler Beschaffungsstrategien für Active-, Passive- und Power Electronics Components.
• Zusammenarbeit mit Agile Teams und F&E zur Unterstützung der Bauteil-Auswahl und Risikominimierung über den Produktlebenszyklus.
• Leitung globaler RFQ/RFP-Prozesse, Kostenbenchmarks und TCO-Analysen, Verhandlung kaufmännischer Vereinbarungen.
• Aufbau und Pflege langfristiger Lieferantenvereinbarungen und strategischer Beziehungen.
• Überwachung von Halbleiter-Markttrends, Bauteillebenszyklen und Lieferantenleistung zur Risikobe-kämpfung.
• Kostenreduzierungsinitiativen durch Wettbewerb, Volumenbündelung und Design-to-Cost.
• Unterstützung der digitalen Supply-Chain-Transparenz durch Analytics und Reporting.
• Sicherstellung der Einhaltung von ABB Beschaffungspolitiken und Lieferanten-Nachhaltigkeitsstandards.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to support global sourcing initiatives and category strategies for electronic components across ABB's Smart Power division. Each day, you will leverage your technical and commercial expertise to ensure suppliers meet business requirements while optimizing cost, quality, delivery, reliability and sustainability. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring purchasing activities align with ABB procurement policies and procedures.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Supporting the definition, development, and implementation of global sourcing strategies for Active, Passive, and Power Electronic Components in close alignment with the global category leader.
• Collaborating with Agile Teams and R&D to support component selection, develop sourcing strategies and mitigate supply risks across the product lifecycle.
• Leading global RFQ/RFP processes, conducting cost benchmarking and TCO analyses and negotiating commercial agreements with electronic component and semiconductor suppliers.
• Developing and maintaining long-term agreements and strategic supplier relationships while supporting supplier onboarding, evaluation and performance management.
• Monitoring semiconductor market trends, component lifecycles, and supplier performance to proactively manage risk and ensure supply continuity.
• Driving cost savings initiatives through competitive sourcing, volume consolidation, design-to-cost and value engineering programs.
• Supporting digital supply chain visibility through analytics and reporting while providing regular updates on category performance to senior management.
• Ensuring compliance with ABB procurement policies, trade compliance requirements and supplier sustainability standards.

Qualifications for the role

• You are highly skilled in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management and supplier relationship management within the electronic components and semiconductor market.
• You have 5-10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, commodity management, electronic components, or supply chain roles within EMS manufacturing, semiconductor manufacturers or similar industries.
• You possess an enhanced knowledge of electronic components, PCBA sourcing, market dynamics and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
• You are passionate about collaboration, stakeholder management, negotiation and delivering results in complex global environments.
• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business or a related field.
• You are at ease communicating in English; additional languages such as Italian, French, Chinese or German are an advantage.
• You are willing to travel internationally up to 20-30%.
• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS or equivalent are a plus
