Zusammenfassung

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Secondary Design Engineer to join our GIS engineering team in Zürich, Switzerland. You will contribute to secondary design deliverables, produce schematics, BOMs and manufacturing documents, and support project phases from base design through as-built updates.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Electrical Engineering, 2–3 years of relevant experience, and practical knowledge of Zuken E3 or similar ECAD tools, with strong English and a collaborative mindset.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 2-3 years of professional experience in secondary engineering, design engineering, or project engineering.
• Practical experience with Zuken E3 or comparable ECAD tools.
• Basic knowledge of GIS, secondary engineering principles, and standards IEC, IEEE, or ANSI.
• Structured and reliable way of working, willingness to learn, and ability to collaborate across functions and disciplines.
• Fluency in English is required; German and other languages are an advantage.

Aufgaben

• Prepare schematics and related engineering documents for GIS secondary engineering scopes, including LCC and digital substation applications.
• Support engineering execution across project phases, from base design and detail design through manufacturing documentation and as-built updates.
• Create preliminary BOMs, reports, and manufacturing documents using approved engineering tools and standard processes.
• Perform structured self-checks and contribute to technically correct, high-quality, and standard-compliant deliverables.
• Support technical clarifications with internal stakeholders, project teams, and factories, and help document and close open points.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, standardization, and engineering best practices, including participation in relevant expert communities.
• Apply internal guidelines, engineering standards, and quality requirements while supporting safe and efficient project execution.
