Job summary

The Life Science Career Network is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer (German-speaking) for a 12-month contract in the Valais region of Switzerland. You will design, specify, and optimize low-voltage electrical systems for automated pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering and fluent German with English skills. You will lead drive technology, switchgear, UPS, and energy optimization while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Work permit or Swiss/EU citizenship required
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience designing electrical systems in industrial manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

• Design and specify low-voltage electrical systems for industrial environments
• Lead projects involving drive technology, VFDs, switchgear, UPS and pipe trace heating
• Develop concepts, specifications, schematics, and installation documentation
• Provide technical input through feasibility, detailed design, commissioning and handover
• Advise on electrical infrastructure modernization and asset lifecycle
