Job summary

Airswift is currently looking for a Mud Engineer to work with our client on Geothermal projects in Lausanne, Switzerland. The Drilling Fluids Engineer will provide onsite drilling fluid services on a super-light MPD rig, monitoring, testing, and optimizing drilling fluid performance to ensure safe, efficient operations.

The role requires 10+ years in drilling fluids, IWCF Level 2, OPITO H2S cert, and will involve 4 to 6 months on a 3/3 rotation with 12-hour shifts at the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of drilling fluids engineering experience in onshore Oil & Gas and/or deep geothermal drilling operations.
• IWCF Level 2 and OPITO H2S or equivalent offshore/onshore medical certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite drilling fluid engineering services on MPD-equipped, super-light rig.
• Test, monitor, control, and optimize drilling fluid properties to meet objectives.
• Supervise drilling fluid mixing, treatment, storage, and pumping operations.
• Analyze fluid performance and offer recommendations to improve efficiency and safety.
• Monitor fluid consumption, inventory, and treatment costs for cost control.
• Coordinate with Drilling Supervisor, Rig Manager, MPD personnel, and contractors.
• Prepare daily reports and technical recommendations for the drilling management team.
