ETH Zurich invites applications for a fully funded Doctoral Position in Mid-Infrared Integrated Photonics and Optical Sensing. The successful candidate will work at the Optical Nanomaterial Laboratory in the Physics Department on MIR photonic devices for advanced sensing and spectroscopy.

The role spans design, simulation, micro-/nanofabrication, and experimental characterization, with MIR spectroscopy and data analysis.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in physics, electrical engineering, photonics, materials science, or related field.
• Experience with micro- and nanofabrication is highly beneficial.
• Interest in addressing technically demanding experimental challenges.

Aufgaben

• Design and simulate photonic devices for mid-infrared applications.
• Fabricate and test photonic devices in the cleanroom and accompany characterization.
• Perform MIR spectroscopy tests and data analysis to evaluate performance.
• Collaborate across disciplines to advance integrated photonics research.
