Job summary

LGT Bank (Schweiz) AG is seeking a Business Risk Manager in the first line of defence to drive due diligence for client onboarding. The role requires collaboration with Compliance and Relationship Managers, assessing money laundering and reputational risks, and delivering practical risk guidance within regulatory boundaries.

The candidate should have international market knowledge, strong analytical skills, and fluency in German and English, with Spanish or Portuguese also preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience as a Business Risk Manager in the first line of defence, with a focus on due diligence.
• Master's degree in law or economics, and/or relevant certifications, such as due diligence or sanctions diploma.
• Knowledge of international markets and the regulatory environment, plus experience with background checks.
• Ability to translate regulatory requirements into clear, practical guidance for the Front in line with the bank's risk appetite.
• Analytical, reliable and risk-aware with strong communication and structured working style.
• Fluency in German and English; Spanish or Portuguese also required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for Relationship Managers on due diligence queries during client prospecting and onboarding.
• Identify and assess money laundering, reputational and other business risks as part of the first line of defence.
• Prepare written client risk assessments and propose pragmatic, risk-appropriate controls.
• Advise and spar with Front on due diligence matters to support sustainable growth.
• Challenge and influence internal stakeholders to align with the bank's risk appetite.
