Job summary

Reuters is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the CoCounsel Legal Desktop App in Switzerland. You will establish the architecture, set engineering standards, and personally ship code for a native-like AI-powered desktop experience on Windows and Mac.

You’ll mentor engineers, work with product, and collaborate across backend and AI platforms to deliver a cohesive desktop product. You will join a greenfield team, drive framework choices (Electron/Tauri/native), ensure cross-platform

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with strong desktop app development expertise for Windows and macOS.
• Experience leading technical direction on a desktop product, including architecture decisions and engineering standards.
• Hands-on track record shipping production desktop applications in enterprise contexts.

Responsibilities

• Define the architecture and framework choices for CoCounsel Legal Desktop App.
• Deliver hands-on desktop code across core features (main agent, file integrations, OS notifications, system tray).
• Mentor engineers, review designs, and uphold desktop engineering standards.
