Job summary

EPAM Systems in the Zurich area, Switzerland, is seeking a Lead Forward-Deployed Engineer (BI) to deliver AI-native BI and visualization solutions. You will shape BI strategy through rapid prototyping and work closely with client stakeholders to deliver impactful reporting and analytics that drive business insights.

The role focuses on advanced BI development, dashboarding, and semantic modeling, with strong Power BI expertise.

Qualifications

Eight+ years of overall experience with at least four years in BI and visualization engineering.
Two+ years in forward-deployed or solution engineering roles.
Advanced BI and visualization development including dashboarding and semantic modeling.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Power BI.
Experience with AI-assisted or agentic development tools.
Familiarity with Anthropic Claude or Amazon Bedrock.
English proficiency at CEFR B2 level.

Responsibilities

Lead client engagement on complex reporting and insight challenges.
Define rapid AI-assisted BI prototypes.
Build and refine dashboards and natural-language-driven reporting solutions using iterative client feedback.
Assess feasibility and contribute to AI-native BI approaches like conversational analytics.
Transition validated prototypes into standard build workflows with BI Engineers.
Act as the senior technical liaison for BI/AI initiatives and client expectations.
Contribute reusable BI and agentic solution patterns to the AI Solution Engineering practice.
