Zusammenfassung

On in Zurich seeks a Footwear Tooling Engineer to lead bottom unit development for its pinnacle performance products. You will guide material choices, mold construction, and manufacturing considerations from concept to prototyping, collaborating with On Labs in Zurich and tooling teams in Vietnam.

You will evaluate designs for manufacturability, durability, and alignment with specs, advising on injection molding costs and capabilities. Travel to Asia is required.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.
• 5+ years in a footwear engineering role with development and production experience.
• Knowledge of materials, mold construction, and manufacturing; plastics injection molding principles.
• Experience with 2D/3D CADs; Rhino is a bonus.
• Experience in 3D modelling and rapid prototyping tools.
• Experience in biomechanics related to footwear bottom unit design.
• Cross-functional collaboration with designers, developers, product management and testing teams.
• Willingness to travel to Asia at least 2 times per year.

Aufgaben

• Lead the bottom unit development for On's performance products.
• Provide solutions to design and construction constraints using materials, mold construction and manufacturing knowledge.
• Evaluate and improve manufacturability and durability by reviewing 2D/3D CADs, prototypes, and testing feedback.
• Ensure alignment with product specifications and manufacturing capabilities.
• Advise on plastics injection molding cost, design, and molding capabilities of injected components.
• Collaborate with Asian counterparts and support mold shop teams on tooling revisions and manufacturing concerns.
• Assist development, product management, and design teams with tooling-related questions or issues.
• Evaluate current workflows and create process improvements to maximize efficiencies and testing.
