Job summary

Pilatus Aircraft seeks a software engineer to join its Flight Test Department in Stans. You will contribute to front- and back-end development of web-based services and to the update of automated data/video processing tools.

You will manage code repositories and CI/CD, collaborate with IT on Azure integrations and tooling, and support flight test operations by capturing and monitoring data processing. We value a strong IT/engineering education, hands-on software/web experience, Linux/Docker

Qualifications

• Higher level education in Information Technology or an Engineering discipline.
• Experience in software or web development, Linux server and Docker.
• Good spoken and written English and German language skills.
• Motivation to learn on the go and integrate solutions with a high level of autonomy.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to build something from idea to execution.

Responsibilities

• Front and backend development of web-based services for the Flight Test Department (django, django-ninja, pydantic, vue.js).
• Update and develop custom software for automated measurement data and video processing (Airflow, Python, C++, ffmpeg, parquet).
• Manage code repositories, Python packages and CI/CD (Git, GitHub, uv, Dockhand).
• Collaborate with IT for identity management, Azure cloud integrations, storage and development tools (Azure, GitHub CoPilot, WSL).
• Support flight test operations by capturing data and videos and monitoring automatic processing.
