Job summary

CDDS AG is hiring a Control & Flight Test Engineer to advance the drone interceptor platform's control, vision, and hardware stack. You will test state estimation, control, and vision algorithms, serving as the field-experienced eyes and ears during customer demos and abroad field tests.

You will collaborate with control, vision, software, and hardware teams to ensure algorithms translate into real-world performance, with a focus on safety and rapid iteration in a high-ownership startup

Qualifications

PhD or MSc in Robotics, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar field with strong academic record (ETH Zürich or equivalent).
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to derive, evaluate, and validate a complex system.
Good understanding of classical & adaptive control, Kalman filtering, state estimation, and SE(3) transformations.

Responsibilities

Design and validate low-latency guidance and control strategies.
Push multi-sensor fusion algorithms for state estimation.
Verify and test new computer vision approaches.
Test and validate low-level control software and hardware changes.
Raise risks and issues to the R&D team.
Analyze data, evaluate performance and failure modes of the full tactical unit during intercepts.
