Job summary

CDDS in Switzerland seeks an exceptional Control & Flight Test Engineer to drive the control, state-estimation and computer vision stack of our interceptor drone platform. You will test, tune and develop algorithms that determine target interception and you will represent R&D in customer demos and field tests abroad.

You will collaborate with control, vision, software and hardware experts to ensure the algorithms translate into field performance.

Qualifications

PhD or MSc in Robotics, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar, with strong academic record.
Strong analytical mindset with ability to derive, evaluate, and validate a complex system.
Proficiency in Python and Linux; openness to travel often.

Responsibilities

Designing and validate low-latency guidance and control strategies.
Push multi-sensor fusion for state estimation.
Verify and test new computer vision approaches.
Test and validate low-level control software and hardware changes.
Raise risks and issues on the field to the R&D team.
Analyse data, evaluate performance and failure modes of the full tactical unit during intercepts.
