Zusammenfassung

Harmattan AI is seeking a Flight Control & Dynamics Engineer to own control law design and system identification across a family of airframes. The role involves weighing classical versus learning-based methods, from tuned controllers to reinforcement-learning policies trained in simulation and flown on hardware.

You will work across SITL/HITL tests, develop models from flight data, and help transfer insights to real aircraft.

Qualifikationen

  • Strong academic record in aerospace, controls, robotics or related STEM field.
  • Hands-on identification and control on flight platforms, validated in flight.
  • Real-time control on constrained hardware including microcontrollers and companion computers.
  • Familiarity with reinforcement learning and simulation-based training.

Aufgaben

  • System Identification: design excitation maneuvers and fit airframe models from flight data with quantified error bounds.
  • Control Law Design & Tuning: inner rate and attitude loops, gain scheduling, and tuning across airframes and flight envelopes.
  • Sim-to-Real: keep in-house simulator faithful to the identified model for transfer to hardware.
  • Model Consumption: convert aerodynamic derivatives into flying control.
  • Flight Test & Diagnosis: verify across simulation, SITL, and HITL, iterate from logs.
  • Mentorship: support and mentor junior control and GNC engineers as needed.
