Job summary

Harmattan AI in Lausanne, Paris, or Zurich seeks a Flight Control & Dynamics Engineer to own control-law design and system identification using flight data. You'll compare MPC, INDI, and geometric control, balancing classical and learning-based methods, with real-time implementation on microcontrollers and companion computers.

You will ensure sim-to-real fidelity, drive validation across SITL/HITL and flight tests, and mentor junior engineers as the team grows to deliver robust autonomous

Qualifications

• Hands-on identification and control on multirotor or fixed-wing platforms, validated in flight.
• Depth in MPC, INDI, or geometric control.
• Real-time control on constrained targets with microcontroller and companion computer.
• Familiarity with reinforcement learning and simulation-based training.

Responsibilities

• System Identification: Design excitation maneuvers and fit airframe models from flight data with quantified error bounds.
• Control Law Design & Tuning: Inner rate and attitude loops with gain scheduling across airframes and envelopes.
• Sim-to-Real: Keep the in-house simulator faithful to the identified model for transfer to hardware.
• Model Consumption: Convert aerodynamic derivatives into flying control.
• Flight Test & Diagnosis: Validate across simulation, SITL, HITL; iterate from logs.
• Mentorship: Support junior control and GNC engineers when needed.
