Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Field Service Engineer II to install, service and repair sophisticated analytical instruments across research, industrial, and healthcare settings in Switzerland. You’ll troubleshoot complex devices, deliver exceptional customer service, and contribute to scientific advancement through advanced technology support.

Based in the Basel/Zurich region, you will strengthen the Electron Microscopy Service team and travel within the territory to support SEM/SDB

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of hands-on experience installing, troubleshooting and repairing complex analytical instruments.
• Strong electronics and mechanical troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose issues down to component level.
• Experience with ultra-high vacuum systems and high voltage equipment preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.

DESCRIPTION:

As a Field Service Engineer II at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll contribute to delivering excellent service for sophisticated analytical and scientific instruments. Working with customers across research, industrial, and healthcare settings, you'll install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex equipment while providing exceptional customer service. This position offers opportunities to work with advanced technology while contributing to scientific advancement and innovation.

We are looking for you to strengthen the Field Service Team for our Electron Microscopy Service organization in the EMEA Central-South Region.

You will have your place of living in Switzerland, ideally in the greater Basel or Zurich area to support our Electron Microscopy and X-ray Photoelectron Spectrometry customers. The current focus is on SEM and SDB systems in the area.

REQUIREMENTS:

• at least Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of hands-on technical experience installing, troubleshooting and repairing complex analytical instruments


• Preferred Fields of Study: Electronics, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related technical field


• Additional relevant certifications are advantageous


• Strong electronics and mechanical troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose issues down to component level


• Experience with ultra-high vacuum systems and high voltage equipment preferred


• Excellent customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal


• Team player mentality


• Strong organizational and time management capabilities


• IT skills, including TCP/IP networking


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and service management software


• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and schematics


• place of living in Switzerland in the greater Zurich or Basel area


• Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50-75% within assigned territory


• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various laboratory environments


• Proficiency in English required; additional languages spoken in Switzerland are a benefit
