Syngenta Crop Protection, headquartered in Switzerland, is seeking a European Patent Attorney to join our Crop Protection Patents team in Basel. You will handle IP activities supporting commercial objectives, delivering IP strategies and providing IP support for transaction teams as a proactive business partner with R&D, Commercial, Legal and Licensing colleagues.

This role offers learning and mentorship for early-career patent professionals, with structured development and potential to grow.

Qualifikationen

• Qualified European Patent Attorney with up to 2 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
• Degree or equivalent in organic chemistry or closely related subject.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Self-starter mentality with ability to proactively identify issues and propose solutions.
• Ability to interact with various functions at all levels of the organization.

Aufgaben

• Drafting, filing, prosecution and defense of patents in crop protection-related inventions.
• Develop global, regional and country IP strategies for assigned areas.
• Advise on freedom-to-operate matters and, in certain cases, prepare opinions.
• Client counselling, including evaluating patent validity and infringement issues.
