Swiss Re in Zurich is seeking an Underwriter Engineering to develop and manage engineering treaty and facultative reinsurance with a focus on the French market, while supporting other EMEA markets.

You will work with a diverse team, applying technical expertise to complex risk challenges and helping clients build resilience. 3+ years in (re)insurance and fluency in English and French are valued.

Qualifikationen

• University degree in a scientific or commercial field.
• Engineering, Actuarial, or Computer Science qualifications are a strong advantage.
• Experience in the (re)insurance industry, ideally in treaty underwriting — 3+ years of experience valued.
• Proficiency in English and French (written and spoken) for client and market engagement.

Aufgaben

• Underwrite Engineering treaty and facultative reinsurance with focus on France; assess technical/actuarial aspects, review wording, negotiate with clients.
• Conduct post-underwriting activities such as risk surveys, reserve setting, and claims support.
• Source and develop new Engineering business by engaging with insurers and brokers, including decennial, construction, infrastructure, parametric, and renewable energy lines.
• Strengthen Swiss Re's position in the French engineering reinsurance market in line with strategy.
• Deliver competent client service with advice, training sessions, and workshops; drive product innovation with client collaboration.
• Enhance external visibility on Engineering topics through events, publications, and social networks.
• Collaborate across units to identify new opportunities in Transactions and Solutions.
