Job summary

UZH Alumni is seeking a motivated Project Manager Engineering or Lead Engineer to lead converter projects from sales to completion. You will ensure on-time, on-budget delivery in line with quality requirements and coordinate diverse teams and external partners.

Ideal candidates have a Master’s in electrical or mechanical engineering, 5+ years in engineering project execution, and strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills in English (German a plus).

Qualifications

• Master's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project execution within an engineering environment.
• Experience with power systems and converter systems is a plus.
• Proven track record in managing complex engineering projects.
• PMP or equivalent certification is an advantage.
• Fluency in English is required; German is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of Engineering projects within defined timelines and budgets.
• Lead technical solution development during sales and tender phase for Engineering.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables with stakeholders.
• Coordinate internal teams and external partners for smooth execution.
• Communicate project plans, progress, and expectations clearly and proactively.
• Assess resource requirements and allocate them effectively.
• Track milestones, timelines, and deliverables with appropriate tools.
• Identify risks early, manage scope changes, and implement mitigations.
• Lead, coach, and motivate project team members to high performance.
• Conduct project reviews and capture learnings for future improvements.
