CERN in Geneva, Switzerland, invites applications for a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to design and development of advanced electromechanical systems for accelerator beam transfer across CERN's complex. You will work with engineers, physicists and technicians to translate concepts into practical solutions, producing detailed documentation and supporting assembly and testing.

The role requires hands-on CAD experience, FEM knowledge, and a readiness to learn French.

Qualifikationen

• Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD
• Exposure to ISO GPS standards and BOM preparation
• Hands-on experience in structural simulations using finite element analysis
• Theoretical knowledge in mechanical behaviour of materials and production methods
• Experience with additive manufacturing and 3D scanning would be an asset

Aufgaben

• Contribute to conceptual design and development of mechanical and electromechanical systems
• Produce engineering documentation, including 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs
• Support manufacturing, assembly, testing, and installation of equipment
• Collaborate with physicists, engineers, and technicians to translate conceptual requirements into practical solutions
• Develop innovative technologies for high-voltage pulsed power and accelerator systems
