Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich's Rehabilitation Engineering Laboratory (RELab) seeks an Embedded Systems Engineer to lead the embedded sensing platform for ax|ReCover. You will design firmware and electronics, integrate sensors, and enable BLE communication with smartphones, shaping prototypes into manufacturable devices.

The role spans hardware and software, requires strong C/C++, ARM Cortex‑M experience, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team in neurorehabilitation tech. 80–100% workload, Zürich location.

Qualifikationen

  • BSc/ MSc in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, Robotics or related field.
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills.
  • Experience with ARM Cortex‑M or similar microcontrollers.
  • Experience with BLE.
  • Experience with SPI, I2C, UART, ADCs, DMA, interrupts and timers.

Aufgaben

  • Develop embedded firmware for ax|ReCover platform.
  • Design, implement and validate sensor acquisition pipelines.
  • Integrate biomechanical and physiological sensors into embedded systems.
  • Develop BLE communication between ax|ReCover and smartphone.
  • Design and iterate electronic schematics and PCBs for new hardware revisions.
  • Bring up and validate custom PCBs and low‑level drivers.
  • Collaborate with researchers on electronics integration and prototype development.
  • Diagnose hardware and firmware issues using lab equipment.
  • Support regulatory development and engineering documentation.

Ausbildung

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, Robotics or related discipline
