CERN is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer for the LHC Collimator Control System. The role combines software development, controls engineering, and accelerator technology to renovate the system that protects the world’s largest particle accelerator.

You will work in a collaborative environment to improve reliability, usability, and maintainability of core control software. The role requires a Master's degree with 2–6 years of experience or a PhD with up to 3 years, and eligibility for CERN

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree with 2–6 years of professional experience after graduation, or a PhD with up to 3 years of experience.
• National of CERN Member State or Associate Member State.
• Experience in accelerator controls or related software is preferred.

Aufgaben

• Develop and maintain control applications for the LHC Collimator system using the FESA framework, ensuring integration within CERN's accelerator control environment.
• Coordinate and support control system commissioning, performing functional testing, validation, and verification of interlocks and fail-safes prior to operational deployment.
• Integrate control systems with the alarm server and develop high-level tools to enhance usability and real-time monitoring.
• Contribute to the design and validation of system-level tests, including functional, integration, and regression testing.
• Support expert and operational interfaces, providing diagnostic capabilities and improving intervention workflows.
