Helbling Technik in Bern seeks an Embedded Software Engineer focused on consumer electronics and applied AI. You will take embedded software from architecture to deployment, work with SoMs, and integrate BLE/Wi‑Fi/Zigbee, RTOS, and embedded Linux.

You collaborate with hardware and mechanical teams, write tests, and contribute to AI on edge devices using models and vendor SDKs. Fluent English required; German is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum three years of professional embedded software experience.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills on embedded systems.
• Python programming skills.
• Practical RTOS and/or bare-metal experience.
• Experience with embedded Linux (Yocto) on SoM platforms.
• Experience integrating BLE/Wi‑Fi/Zigbee/Thread stacks.
• Hands-on experience applying AI on embedded platforms.
• Fluent in English; German a plus.

Aufgaben

• Contribute to embedded software architecture and design within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Implement firmware and software for microcontrollers and SoMs on consumer electronics products across bare-metal and RTOS environments.
• Work with SoMs from various providers, including embedded Linux.
• Integrate connectivity stacks (BLE, Wi‑Fi, Zigbee/Thread).
• Apply AI on embedded platforms: deploy pre-trained models on-device; integrate vendor AI/NPU SDKs.
• Write and execute unit, integration, and system-level tests.
• Debug issues across hardware/software boundary and perform root cause analysis.
• Prepare technical documentation: requirements, design notes, test reports.
• Collaborate with customer engineering teams as part of project delivery.
