Job summary

Omya in Switzerland seeks an experienced Process Engineer to lead optimization across dry mineral processing, support CAPEX projects, and drive innovation. You will analyze performance, troubleshoot issues, and push data-driven improvements with cross‑functional teams worldwide.

The role requires a degree in Chemical/Process Engineering, 5+ years of mineral processing experience, and fluency in English. International travel (~30%) is expected. Based in Solothurn region, on-site position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in process engineering, mineral processing, or industrial manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Lead process optimization and operational excellence initiatives to improve efficiency, reliability, throughput, and cost performance.
• Provide process engineering support for CAPEX projects from concept to commissioning.
• Develop and industrialize innovative process technologies and new products.
• Analyze plant performance, troubleshoot, and implement sustainable process improvements.
• Drive data-driven optimization using analytics, digital monitoring, modelling, and statistics.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Sustainability, and R&D teams to deliver technical solutions.
• Develop and maintain process standards, design guidelines, and cross-site knowledge sharing.
• Provide technical leadership and coaching to engineers and plant teams.
• Support sustainability through energy efficiency, emissions reduction, waste minimization, and safe practices.
