Distinguished Strategic Advisor, Office of the Field CTO. The Global Presales team at Okta is a trusted force of technical experts and strategic advisors helping organizations navigate the identity landscape. The Office of the Field CTO is a high-impact, forward-looking group within Global Presales focused on strategic engagement, thought leadership, and market influence, connecting Oktaโs vision to identity challenges of complex organizations.
What youโll be doing
- Strategic Customer Engagement: Act as a technical executive sponsor for a portfolio of strategic accounts, with deep involvement in roadmap alignment and solution planning
- Help customers align identity strategy to transformation initiatives like Zero Trust, hybrid cloud, workforce modernization, and digital trust
- Drive influence by shaping identity vision across IT, security, and business stakeholders
- Technical Leadership: Guide the design of modern identity architectures, integrations, and risk-based access control approaches
- Translate product capabilities into clear, actionable technical strategies that fit customer maturity and architecture constraints
- Provide hands-on architectural guidance and lead deep technical conversations on implementation trade-offs, scalability, and integration
- Partner Ecosystem Engagement: Shape and execute the technical partner strategy with GSIs, regional delivery partners, and technology alliances to accelerate identity-led transformation
- Serve as a strategic advisor to partner CTOs and senior architects, aligning with Oktaโs platform vision and roadmap
- Influence and co-develop joint solution offerings to expand Oktaโs value across key verticals
- Champion partner-led innovation by feeding strategic partner feedback into product, solution engineering, and enablement teams
- Field Enablement and Collaboration: Provide technical oversight on high-complexity deals and collaborate with sales leadership to address critical opportunities
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless execution of global initiatives
- Innovate in tools and techniques to drive excellence and momentum
- Market Influence: Represent Okta in analysts, press, customer briefings, executive meetings, and technical forums; share regional learnings to inform cross-functional strategy
- Innovation and Strategy: Identify repeatable solution patterns that scale across segments and regions; contribute as a technical voice in defining platform evolution; participate in ideation, beta programs, and roadmap conversations
What youโll bring to the role
- 15+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management roles, including Solutions Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, or related fields
- Deep expertise in identity, security, cloud computing, and digital transformation
- Ability to influence both technical and executive stakeholders across sales cycles and long-term transformation programs
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience contributing to technical events
- Strong understanding of market trends, competitive landscape, and enterprise customer needs
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed organization and manage cross-functional initiatives
- Passion for innovation, customer success, and advancing the field of identity
Preferred Qualifications
- Former Enterprise Architect, Identity Strategist, or Principal Security Architect or similar leadership role
- Background in implementing or scaling IAM, identity governance, or security platforms
- Experience with CIAM, DevSecOps, or AI-related access risk models
- Familiarity with identity challenges in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government)
- Experience working with or within Global 2000 Enterprises
- Public speaking or published work related to security architecture or identity strategy
- Proficiency in one or more EMEA regional languages; understanding of EMEA regulatory frameworks
