Zusammenfassung

The Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD) is seeking a Communications Lead to implement and monitor the centre's strategy from its Geneva base. You will engage with media, the public, and the humanitarian community to raise awareness and strengthen visibility across human security and development sectors.

Qualifikationen

• Advanced degree in communication, journalism, international relations, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of communications experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing a team.
• Fluency in English and at least two of German or French, written and spoken.
• Experience with media relations and crisis communications.

Aufgaben

• Identify opportunities for media engagement and disseminate knowledge about GICHD.
• Develop and implement GICHD's communications strategy to advance organizational objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with media professionals, especially in Switzerland.
• Oversee content across publications, press releases and audiovisu al materials; draft donor content.
• Ensure quality and consistency of content, translations, and media articles; uphold style guidelines.
• Support executive communication with the Director and management, including social media.
• Provide guidance on communications best practices to staff.
• Develop partnerships with stakeholders to enhance communications efforts.
• Implement crisis management practices and develop crisis communication plans.
