Jobtailor in Basel-Stadt, Basel seeks a Senior Leader to head Data Capability, shaping governance, architecture and FAIRification across pharma data environments. You will guide a high-caliber team of data modelers, architects and governance professionals, driving AI-enabled data enrichment and compliance initiatives.

You will influence talent decisions, set strategic roadmaps and OKRs, and partner with DDC domains and stakeholders across pRED and gRED to embed data as a strategic asset in R&D.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree in a scientific or technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in Pharma, Diagnostics or a related R&D data environment.
• Strong understanding of R&D processes.
• Hands‑on expertise in data domains such as data stewardship, data standards, data architecture, FAIRification, data modeling, data quality, metadata or data management.
• Proven experience leading complex projects, initiatives or teams across multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to influence without authority and deliver strong outcomes in a matrix environment.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to data privacy, security, quality and compliance.
• Experience with semantic technologies, RDF vocabularies, biomedical ontologies, data standards and data modeling, JSON, SPARQL, federated search, relational databases, knowledge graph technologies, or AWS Neptune would be a strong advantage.

Aufgaben

• Provide strategic leadership for the Data Capability and serve as a key member of the Data Capability Leadership Team.
• Lead a world-class team of data modelers, architects and governance experts.
• Develop and implement the data FAIRification and compliance strategy.
• Ensure adoption of data governance and policies.
• Make decisions on talent, resourcing, strategic prioritization, technical roadmaps, business processes and solution development.
• Develop and execute strategy for leveraging AI, automation and advanced technologies to revolutionize data enrichment processes.
• Hire, develop and retain talent, fostering opportunities for team members to enhance skills and impact.
• Define team objectives, priorities and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
• Modernize and harmonize workflows and processes to deliver FAIR, compliant and AI-ready data assets.
• Oversee large-scale strategic initiatives and data insight development projects.
• Facilitate effective data lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with DDC domains and capability leads and stakeholders across pRED and gRED.
• Foster internal and external partnerships and build a culture of data as an asset in Research and Development.
