mühlemann+popp AG, a Zürich-based software company, invites a motivated Trainee Product Owner / Project Manager to bridge client needs with development teams. You’ll join real projects from day one, with mentorship and clear growth paths into product management roles.

Work will involve collaborating with project managers, UI/UX designers, developers, and QA engineers, gaining structured learning, responsibility, and hands-on experience within an agile setup in Zurich.

Qualifications

• Currently studying or recently graduated in a related field.
• Interest in AI tools and improving productivity.
• Familiarity with agile methods is a plus but not required.
• Experience with software development projects via internships counts.

Responsabilités

• Assist in requirements gathering and document business needs with clients (low-fidelity mockups, Confluence docs).
• Help manage backlogs in Jira under mentor guidance.
• Support project tracking: scope, timeline, and budget.
• Participate in and gradually co-facilitate agile ceremonies (refinements, planning, standups, demos).
• Assist in client communication and reporting related to product work.
• Shadow and co-run recurring client meetings and feedback sessions.

Traineeship - Digital Product Management

Why this traineeship matters

We're looking for a motivated and curious Trainee Product Owner / Project Manager to grow into the bridge between our software project clients and development teams.

This is a hands-on learning role. From day one, you'll be embedded in real projects, working alongside experienced Project Managers, UI/UX designers, developers, and QA engineers. You'll get structured mentorship, real responsibility, and a clear path to grow.

You report to and are mentored by our COO, working within our team of Project Managers.

What you'll learn & do

As you ramp up, you'll be progressively involved in:

• Requirements & product concepts - Support the engineering and documentation of business requirements in collaboration with clients (e.g. low-fidelity mockups & documentation in Confluence)
• Backlog management - Learn to create, maintain, and prioritize development backlogs in Jira under the guidance of your mentor
• Project tracking - Assist in planning and monitoring software development projects with respect to scope, timeline, and budget
• Agile ceremonies - Participate in and gradually co-facilitate refinements, planning sessions, stand-ups, demos, and retrospectives
• Client communication - Support documentation, client reporting, and product-related communication
• Workshops & meetings - Shadow and then co-run recurring client meetings and feedback sessions
• Time & invoicing - Get familiar with project time tracking and invoicing workflows
• Actively explore and apply the latest AI tools to continuously improve our software development and project management workflows.

• Good communication skills in English and German

Hard skills & background

• Currently studying or recently graduated in Business Informatics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field
• First exposure to software development projects (internships, university projects, or personal projects count)
• Curious about AI tools and how they can boost productivity
• Ability to structure and document thoughts clearly
• Any experience with agile methods, Jira, or Confluence is a plus - but not required
