Job summary

Bachem is seeking a Data Scientist for Digital Manufacturing (a) 100% to strengthen our Data Analytics capabilities across the production lifecycle. You will work with PI Historian data, MES PAS-X, PCS and OT/IT interfaces to deliver data-driven insights and improved reporting.

You will collaborate with Production, TechOps, Quality, Automation and IT to translate operational needs into dashboards and analytics. A GMP background and strong Python/SQL skills are essential.

Qualifications

• University degree in a technical field (Data Science, CS, Math, Engineering)
• Hands-on experience with manufacturing or process data in GMP or regulated environments
• Strong programming skills (Python, SQL, R) and data analytics/visualization tools
• Ability to translate manufacturing needs into data visuals, algorithms and analytical solutions
• Familiarity with GMP, ALCOA+ data integrity and analytics validation activities
• Self-driven, collaborative and proactive in a fast-paced manufacturing setting

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced extraction capabilities and analytics to support CPV, root-cause investigations and process improvements
• Contribute to data pipelines connecting PI Historian, MES PAS-X, PCS and OT/IT systems to analytics and reporting platforms
• Manage and expand Bachem’s data analytics capabilities including dashboards and ad-hoc analyses
• Serve as a PI System expert and support end users with time-series data retrieval and interpretation
• Support investigations, risk assessments and continued process verification with data-driven evidence
• Analyze manufacturing data across the production lifecycle and deliver actionable insights to operations, engineering and quality
