Job summary

RUAG C5I in Bern seeks a DevOps Engineer to design, implement and operate secure, highly automated infrastructure in a private cloud. You will build Linux systems and Kubernetes environments, deploy security monitoring, and support incident response while integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.

You should have hands-on Linux, networking, Terraform/Ansible expertise and an understanding of hardening. Swiss citizenship and on‑site work in Bern are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT, CS or cybersecurity.
• Hands-on Linux and infrastructure engineering experience.
• Experience with security monitoring, SIEM or incident response.

• Design, implement and operate secure and highly automated infrastructure in an on-premise private cloud
• Build and maintain Linux-based systems and Kubernetes environments
• Deploy and operate security monitoring and detection solutions, including SIEM platforms
• Support the investigation and handling of security incidents and continuously improve detection capabilities
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Integrate security measures into CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes
• Strengthen infrastructure security through system hardening, vulnerability management and access controls
• Analyze and resolve technical issues across infrastructure, networks and applications

What you should bring with you

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or equivalent practical experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux systems and infrastructure engineering
• Experience in security monitoring, threat detection, SIEM or incident response
• understanding of networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing and firewalls
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of automation and scripting tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Bash
• Familiarity with infrastructure security, vulnerability management and system hardening
• Analytical mindset, structured way of working and strong problem-solving skills
• Swiss citizenship required
