Zühlke Group in Bern, Switzerland, is hiring a DevOps Engineer who bridges the developer world with the operations world. You will advocate for DevOps mindset and tooling, and help our clients continuously improve their DevOps environments.

You will balance hands-on work with strategic thinking, ensure production and development environments run smoothly, and build automation for builds, deployments, testing, and monitoring. Fluency in German and English and a technical degree are preferred.

• Several years of software development and architecture experience with operations knowledge.

The role

As a DevOps Engineer you bridge the developer world with the operations world and support all parties with needed infrastructure. You are a DevOps advocate for mindset and tooling, value the longstanding DevOps technologies and help our customers to continuously improve their DevOps environment.

• You can balance technical hands-on work with strategic thinking
• You are responsible for ensuring the operation of production and development environments, as well as resolving disruptions in close collaboration with development teams and hosting providers.
• You bring operational excellence into development projects and ensure their implementation with high quality.
• Building and continuously optimizing automation for builds, deployments, testing, and monitoring are also within your responsibilities.
• Strong stakeholder management and subtle leadership skills as influencing without authority and managing political nuances are daily realities.
• You provide customer consultation regarding new infrastructure projects.

What’s Important To Us

• You have already worked for several years in software development and architecture and are also familiar with operational topics.
• You have experience in the following technologies: Shell (Unix Shell/PowerShell), Java, Jenkins, Ansible, Maven, Gradle, Git, GitLab, Artifactory.
• A quick grasp, strong communication skills and an understanding of business processes help you to understand complex client problems.
• A technical degree (University of Applied Sciences, university, ETH, or equivalent) would be a plus.
• Daily communication and interaction with customers and colleagues bring you joy – fluent in German and English.
