Job summary

Swisscom (Schweiz) is seeking a DevOps Engineer for the TelcoCloud Enabler Services team to design, implement and operate Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD for the TelcoCloud IaaS layer, collaborating across disciplines and applying deep CI/CD knowledge. You will support operations, monitoring and automation in a fast, agile environment.

You will participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, develop the pipeline framework, and contribute to Linux system engineering and automation while enjoying

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Strong Git usage and Python/Bash
• Excellent Linux/UNIX system skills
• Basic networking and services knowledge (LDAP, virtualization)
• Experience with Puppet/Ansible is a plus
• Good documentation skills and structured work
• Very good English; German is a plus
• Self-organization and results-oriented mindset
• Willingness to participate in 24/7 on-call rotation

In the TelcoCloud Enabler Services Team, you support the implementation of the "Infrastructure as Code" philosophy for our IT infrastructure, from concept to delivery, and continuously develop our pipeline framework. You work across disciplines with other teams and apply your in-depth knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment. You also support the operation and monitoring of our systems. You are passionate about agile ways of working and take on responsibility and a variety of tasks in a supportive, motivated DevOps team; given the wide range of services, the team often works in pairs on stories to build and share knowledge. Various peripheral systems are required for the TelcoCloud IaaS layer.

• Design, implement and operate Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD for the TelcoCloud IaaS layer
• Engineer and run enabler services such as identity and access management, secrets, backup, monitoring and HA-Cluster
• Linux system engineering including virtualisation, logging and automation
• Regular participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation and operational work

Your skills

• Degree (University / ETH / UAS) in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
• Confident use of Git and advanced knowledge of Python and Bash
• Strong command of Linux systems (RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu) - you navigate them intuitively
• Basic IT knowledge of networking and other enabler services such as LDAP and virtualisation.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet and Ansible is an advantage.
• Strong documentation skills and a structured, thorough approach to work.
• Very good spoken and written English; German is an advantage.
• Self-organisation, initiative, and a results-oriented mindset.
