Our Geneva-based client seeks a skilled Database Engineer to modernize the bank’s data layer on Sybase ASE and Sybase IQ in Geneva. You will optimize stored procedures, re-engineer UNIX ksh and SQL scripts, and ensure reliable ETL pipelines for banking data.

You will design, develop, and maintain data solutions, build on-premises apps with .NET and Angular, and implement robust monitoring, logging, and data quality controls to support daily, weekly, and monthly cycles.

Qualifikationen

• Experience designing and maintaining complex database architectures for transactional and analytical workloads.
• Strong proficiency in Sybase ASE and Sybase IQ with tuning and optimization skills.
• Proven ability to modernize legacy data layers, refactor UNIX scripts, and implement robust error handling.

Aufgaben

• Review data systems and architectures to identify improvements.
• Design and maintain stored procedures, functions and packages on Sybase ASE/IQ.
• Rewrite UNIX ksh and SQL scripts with modern patterns and error handling.
• Develop and manage on-premises applications using .NET Framework/C# and Angular.
• Build and support ETL/ELT workflows and scheduling (e.g., Control-M).
• Ensure data quality and reliable daily/weekly/monthly cycles with monitoring and alerts.
• Collaborate with Finance/Operations to translate requirements into robust batch solutions.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root-cause analysis and implement preventative fixes while meeting SLAs.
