Job summary

Roche in Basel is seeking a Data Innovation Specialist to join the Real-World & Clinical Data Strategy (RWCDS) team. You will explore AI, semantic integration, and knowledge graphs to unlock new use cases across clinical, real-world, and operational data.

Reporting to the Data Innovation Lead, you will design proof-of-concepts, validate solutions, and help scale novel data tools while ensuring regulatory compliance and data privacy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Informatics, Life Sciences, or related technical field.
• 0-4 years of data-related or innovation projects, or equivalent advanced degree.
• Familiarity with scripting languages (Python or R) and version control (Git).
• Ability to document findings clearly and work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Perform data exploration, documentation, and early-stage testing of novel data tools or approaches.
• Build reproducible pipelines for exploratory analyses and prototyping.
• Collaborate with experienced colleagues to investigate new data science techniques and technologies.
• Participate in innovation-focused workshops, sprint reviews, and documentation efforts.
• Maintain and share structured records of findings, test results, and process improvements.
• Assess new data and analytics use cases based on internal gaps or evolving questions.
