ENKA Investment AG is seeking a Data Center Design Manager for its project in Beringen, Schaffhausen. You will lead coordinated design delivery across the building and critical systems, working closely with the Swiss project organization and ENKA’s headquarters design and procurement team in Istanbul.

The role combines technical leadership, design delivery management and close support to procurement, construction and commissioning. Start date is 01.12.2026 and the position is full time on site.

Qualifikationen

You will lead coordinated design delivery across the building and its critical systems, working closely with the Swiss project organization and ENKA’s headquarters design and procurement team in Istanbul.

The role combines technical leadership, design delivery management and close support to procurement, construction and commissioning.

Required Knowledge and Qualifications

• A degree in electrical, mechanical, civil, or building services engineering, architecture or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrable professional competence
• At least 10 years of relevant design or construction experience, with proven responsibility for leading multidisciplinary design delivery, including detailed design, construction, commissioning and handover
• Strong knowledge of CSA and critical MEP interfaces, power and cooling resilience, and practical construction requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead consultants and specialist designers, manage design deliverables and approvals, and resolve complex interfaces in an international EPC, main contractor or comparable project environment.
• Practical BIM coordination, model review and document control experience, using Navisworks or Solibri, Revit/IFC models and common data environment such as ACC, Aconex or equivalent.
• Commercial and programme awareness, including design scope, procurement interfaces and change control. Sound judgment, clear reporting and the ability to close decisions under construction deadlines.
• Professional fluency spoken and written Turkish, English are essential. Turkish is required for daily technical meetings and reporting with ENKA’s Istanbul headquarters; (German is a plus for local coordination); English for the international project team and technical documentation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead civil structural, architectural and MEP design delivery from the current design stage through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover, coordinating ENKA’s consultants and specialist designers.
• Work daily with ENKA’s headquarters design team in Istanbul. Lead technical meetings in Turkish and provide daily reports on progress, outstanding decisions, design risks and actions.
• Maintain the design management plan, responsibility matrix, deliverables register and programme. Align releases with procurement lead times, construction sequencing and the integrated project schedule.
• Coordinate excavation, temporary works interfaces, foundations and piling where required, concrete, steel, architecture, façades and roofing with equipment loads, installation sequences and building services.
• Integrate critical power and cooling systems, including utility interfaces, transformers, generators, UPS, distribution, cooling plant, pumps and CRAH/CRAC units, together with controls, fire protection, security and ICT pathways.
• Close interfaces for openings, sleeves, shafts, plinths, embedded items, support and fire stopping before construction release. Coordinate structural approvals, maintenance access and equipment replacement routes.
• Lead multidisciplinary reviews and BIM coordination. Resolve technical and spatial issues, record decisions and maintain controlled models, drawings and specifications in the common data environment.
• Manage consultant scopes, technical submittals, RFIs and review comments. Coordinate approved construction information and track overdue inputs, revisions and approvals.
• Integrate vendor and subcontractor design, including employer supplied equipment where applicable. Coordinate technical procurement inputs, long lead equipment interfaces and vendor changes.
• Coordinate compliance reviews and permit submissions with Swiss consultants, authorities and utilities, addressing applicable SIA standards, fire safety requirements and project obligations.
• Assess changes and value engineering with Commercial and Project Controls teams, identifying effects on cost, programme, resilience, safety and operating performance before approval.
• Support side teams with buildability and design issue resolution. Manage design risks, safe access, construction interfaces and incorporation of approved site changes.
• Coordinate with commissioning and operations teams on testability and maintainability. Close design issues arising from factory and site acceptance tests and integrated systems testing.
• Track completion of as-built records and operation and maintenance documentation. Report design progress, unresolved risks and required decisions through handover.
