Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Baden, Switzerland, is seeking a Commissioning Team Leader to oversee a team of engineers, ensuring safe, on-time delivery and peak performance across complex projects, from pre-commissioning to final testing.

You will develop commissioning strategies, approve plans and schedules, coordinate with project management, sales, and clients, and mentor staff to drive innovation, quality and safety in a global, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent) required.
• 6+ years experience in commissioning/start-up/operations in heavy industries.
• 3+ years in a leadership role managing commissioning teams.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide a team of Commissioning Engineers, providing technical expertise, coaching, and performance management.
• Develop, review, and approve detailed commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules aligned with project requirements and safety standards.
• Oversee all commissioning phases, including pre-commissioning checks, functional testing, and performance verification.
• Work closely with project management, engineering, tender/sales teams, and clients to ensure seamless execution.
• Identify and resolve complex technical issues during commissioning, implementing corrective actions and optimizing system performance.
• Allocate personnel, equipment, and materials effectively to meet deadlines and budget targets.
• Uphold safety protocols, quality standards, and environmental regulations throughout the process.

• At least 3 years in a leadership role managing commissioning teams
• Proven ability to develop and implement commissioning strategies and procedures
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex technical challenges
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
