Job summary

Bavarian Nordic in Bern, Switzerland seeks a motivated Commercial Forecasting Intern to support forecasting and market analytics across brands and regions. You will work with commercial data, develop insights, and enhance forecasting tools within the Commercial Operations team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed Bachelor's or Master's in Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Life Sciences, Engineering, Statistics or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven mindset.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Support short- and long-term commercial forecasts across brands and regions.
• Collect, clean and structure sales and forecast data with high quality.
• Consolidate product-, country-, and SKU-level forecasts for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist monitoring and reporting of forecasts and KPIs.
• Prepare data tables, charts, and presentations for forecast reviews.
• Maintain forecast trackers, timelines and documentation.
• Update dashboards and assist with ad hoc analytical tasks.
• Contribute to automation of forecasting templates and workflows.

Are you an analytical and curious individual looking to gain valuable experience within commercial forecasting and market analytics in an international pharmaceutical company? Then you might be our new Commercial Forecasting Intern!

Boost our team

As our new Commercial Forecasting Intern, you will become part of our Commercial Operations team, working closely with our Forecasting & Market Analytics Lead. Your focus area will be to support commercial forecasting activities across different brands and regions, contributing to data analysis, reporting, and forecasting processes.

The position can be based at one of our offices in Denmark, Switzerland, or Germany and is a full-time, 12-month internship.

You will gain hands-on experience working with commercial data, analyzing market trends, and supporting both short- and long-term forecasting. You will also collaborate with different stakeholders across the Commercial organization and contribute to improving our forecasting tools and processes.

We are looking for someone who is motivated to develop their analytical skills and gain practical experience within commercial forecasting and the pharmaceutical industry.

Your tasks:

• Support the preparation and maintenance of short- and long-term commercial forecasts across brands and regions
• Collect, clean, and structure sales and forecast data, ensuring high data quality and consistency
• Assist with consolidating product-, country-, and SKU-level forecasts and checking data for completeness and accuracy
• Support the monitoring and reporting of forecasts and relevant KPIs
• Prepare data tables, charts, and presentations for forecast reviews and planning meetings
• Maintain forecast trackers, timelines, documentation, and follow-up activities
• Update reporting dashboards and contribute to ad hoc analytical tasks
• Contribute to process improvements and automation of forecasting templates, dashboards, and workflows

We imagine that you are currently pursuing or have recently completed a bachelor's or master's degree in Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Life Sciences, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field. You have a strong interest in working with data and analytics and are motivated to gain practical experience within commercial forecasting and the pharmaceutical industry. You enjoy solving problems, working with numbers, and turning data into meaningful insights.

Furthermore, we imagine that you:

• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Have good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI or similar analytical tools
• Are structured, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with large amounts of data
• Have an interest in commercial forecasting, market analytics, and the pharmaceutical industry
• Are curious, eager to learn, and motivated to develop your analytical skills
• Are comfortable collaborating with different stakeholders across an international organization
• Take responsibility for your tasks and work independently with appropriate guidance
• Have good communication skills and can present analytical findings in a clear and structured manner
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
