Zusammenfassung

Optravis LLC is seeking a hands-on Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to own design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure. You will work with software teams to deliver scalable, cost-efficient solutions and support ISMS security/compliance tasks.

You will own lifecycle management of assets, implement least privilege and audit logging, and contribute to ISMS improvements while collaborating on internal IT tasks and exploring new technologies.

Qualifikationen

• MSc in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Swiss or EU/EFTA citizenship; visa sponsorship not available.
• Experience building and operating production infrastructure (networking, identity, storage, monitoring, containers).
• Infrastructure-as-code experience; Bicep preferred; Terraform experience welcome.
• Ability to write and maintain code/scripts using Git and testing.
• Excellent verbal and written English; other languages a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting across apps, containers, OS, and networks.
• Accountability: document, meet commitments and manage risks early.
• Security judgement: identify risks and suggest safeguards.
• Ability to evaluate technologies or products and estimate costs.

As a member of the Infrastructure and Security team, you will take full ownership of cloud infrastructure design, implementation and maintenance. This is a hands‑on role: you will lead the technical decisions and carry out the implementation and ongoing operational work.

You will collaborate closely with our software development teams to understand their requirements and deliver scalable, cost‑efficient solutions.
Additionally, you will support security and compliance tasks to ensure alignment with the Optravis ISMS and contribute to its improvement.

Tasks

• Take responsibility for a defined portfolio of products and internal systems, such as Optravis’ main Azure subscription.
• Own and improve the operational lifecycle of assigned assets, including scheduled controls, maintenance and recovery exercises.
• Design, build and maintain clean, efficient, reliable, tested and compliant infrastructure components.
• Apply least privilege, secure configuration, protected secrets and useful audit logging in everyday engineering decisions.
• Implement and operate technical controls, maintain evidence and resolve findings with the security/compliance lead.
• Contribute to the Operational Plan of the ISMS.
• Contribute to internal IT tasks, workspace connectivity and internal productivity tools.
• Scout for and experiment with new technologies.

Requirements

Mandatory

• MSc in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification.
• Swiss or EU/EFTA citizenship is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
• Experience building and operating production infrastructure, including networking, identity management, storage and managed services, monitoring, containerization, etc.
• Practical infrastructure-as-code experience. We use Bicep; experience with Terraform or comparable tools is welcome if you are willing to adopt Bicep.
• The ability to write and maintain useful code or scripts, using Git, code reviews, and appropriate testing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Any additional language is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across applications, containers, operating systems and networks.
• Accountability: you keep commitments, maintain documentation, complete recurring operational tasks, and raise risks early.
• Practical security judgment: you can identify and categorize risks, explain trade-offs to management and recommend appropriate safeguards.
• Ability to evaluate and recommend technologies or products and estimate their expected costs.

Additional Skills

• Azure Container Apps, Front Door/WAF, managed identities and managed PostgreSQL.
• CI/CD, observability and automated security checks.
• Google Cloud.
• Kotlin/Java applications or collaboration with JVM backend teams.
• Working in ISO 27001 or ISAE 3402 environments, including technical controls and audit evidence.
