Zusammenfassung

CERN is seeking a specialist to contribute to the design, optimisation, and performance evaluation of a potential future collider. The role covers beam optics development and beam dynamics simulations, including synchrotron radiation, beam-beam interactions, and impedance.

You will collaborate on conceptual design, optimize optics, run particle tracking studies, and address accelerator physics challenges drawing on FCC-ee experience.

Qualifikationen

  • Knowledge of beam dynamics in synchrotrons and storage rings.
  • Experience with beam dynamics effects in lepton colliders, e.g., beam-beam, synchrotron radiation, impedance.
  • Experience in setting up and interpreting particle tracking simulations for accelerator studies.

Aufgaben

  • Contribute to the conceptual design phase of the study for collider design evaluation.
  • Propose optimisations of linear and nonlinear beam optics, tune scans, and dynamics-optimized performance.
  • Perform particle tracking studies across operating energy range, including beam-beam, SR, and impedance effects.
  • Investigate accelerator physics challenges related to the collider, drawing on FCC-ee study experience.
