Evatec AG, based in Vaud, Switzerland, seeks a Category Manager for Electrical Components to drive strategic sourcing and supplier partnerships on a key category. This on-site role focuses on achieving cost efficiency and supply security within a high-tech manufacturing environment.

You will leverage your electrical know-how and procurement expertise to support product development and global supply chains, ensuring robust negotiations and market insight.

Qualifikationen

• Technical or commercial qualification, preferably with electrical engineering background.
• 5–8 years international procurement experience in plant engineering, capital equipment or industrial manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of electrical components, motors and electromechanical systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems; SAP experience is an advantage.
• Fluent German and English, willing to travel ~15%.

As a Category Manager for Electrical Components, you will be responsible for a key category and ensure that our technologies can be successfully developed through strategic sourcing, strong supplier partnerships, and in-depth market expertise.

What you will be doing

• Negotiate with foresight: you lead price and contract negotiations for electrical components, motors, control cabinets, and electrical assemblies while securing the best possible commercial terms
• Drive category strategy: you develop and implement sourcing strategies for your category, aligned with our business objectives
• Optimize costs and processes: you identify cost-saving opportunities, evaluate supplier quotations, and continuously improve procurement and inventory costs
• Build strong supplier partnerships: you establish and develop a strategic supplier network, conduct regular business reviews, and ensure long-term supply security
• Leverage market intelligence: you monitor market developments within your category and support internal stakeholders with your expertise in strategic and technical decision-making

What you should bring

• Strong educational background: you have a technical or commercial qualification, ideally with an electrical engineering background, complemented by further training in procurement or supply chain management
• Technical sourcing expertise: you bring 5-8 years of international procurement experience, ideally within plant engineering, capital equipment, or industrial manufacturing
• Electrical know-how: you have a solid understanding of electrical components, motors, control cabinets, and electromechanical systems
• Digital proficiency: you work confidently with MS Office and ERP systems; SAP experience is an advantage
• Communication and flexibility: you communicate fluently in German and English and are willing to travel occasionally (approx. 15%)
